Blueberries, Blueberries, Blueberries

I traveled South last weekend to Chincoteaque Island's Blueberry Festival. The island is small and quaint with only one bridge to take you on and off the island. Chincoteaque Island is most know for its wild ponies (Thankfully, I missed the chaos of Pony Week where thousands of people come to see the ponies swim across the river and to be auctioned off).

Needless to say, the Blueberry Festival offered blueberries  in just about every dish.

Blueberry Pie
Blueberry Ice cream
Blueberry Ice Tea
Blueberry Jam
Blueberry Pancakes

If you can put blueberries in it, you would find it there. Dispite the heat, the festival brought together a great group of artists. It was inspiring to speak to so many talented people. It is weekends like the last that I really appreciate what I am doing. Traveling, meeting wonderful artists, and selling what I love... I wouldn't even think to trade it for a 9-5 job!

Christmas in July

Christmas came early at Penn's Place in Historic New Castle. The house was decorated with all the trimmings from a Christmas tree, fabulous hand sculpted Santas, and holiday music.

We were definitely in the Christmas spirit! All of the artists offered 10% off your purchase and a 10% off voucher to the local restaurants Prince on Delaware, Portofinos, and Jack's Bistro. It was a great event that brought the community together and introduced Penn's Place as a great shopping destination.

Keep Penn's Place in mind for the holidays and when you need that one-of-a-kind gift!

Penn's Place: Then & Now

Since Kerry Elizabeth and our fellow artists are becoming permeant residents of Penn's Place, we thought it was important to step back in time.

Cloud's Row, 117-125 Delaware Street in New Castle. (1936)
The former William Penn Guest House in Historic New Castle is circa 1682 and full of charm and history. The house previously operated as a bed and breakfast where William Penn has reportedly stayed.

Now, with a fresh coat of paint and many long nights from the ambitious new owners, the house has been turned into Penn's Place, a retail space for artists to showcase and sell their work.

Penn's Place 206 Delaware St (2010)
Penn's Place is fully restored and breathtaking to walk through. The walls aren't straight and the floors aren't even, but that's simply part of the "New Castle charm." You can only imagine what stories would be told if the walls could talk.

Kerry Elizabeth has Found a Home

Kerry Elizabeth is settled into our new home at Penn's Place in Historic New Castle, DE. The surroundings and the fellow artists are inspiring.

We are located at 206 Delaware St, just a block from the waterfront view of the Delaware River. It may be hard to get work done at such a beautiful location!
