Atlantic City... On a Budget

This past Saturday, I put my pliers down and turned off my computer to celebrate a longtime friend's bachelorette party. I piled in the car with some great friends and headed to Atlantic City. This was my first trip to AC and I was beyond excited!

When I walked into the Tropicana, it was as if I was no longer at the Jersey Shore. The stone walkways were lined with boutiques, cool fresh air was blowing down the halls, and the sky was bright blue.

I planned to have a blast, but I had to stay on a budget. Here are some tips and tricks of how I enjoyed Atlantic City and stayed on a budget.

1. Get a rewards card. Each casino offers a rewards card that tracks points as you gamble. You will be entered to receive special discounts and be given coupons for restaurants and shops that can be used right away.

2. Bring a case of water. Buying bottled water can cost up to $3 throughout the hotel. You won't regret bring your own. Staying hydrated is also key when soaking up the sun throughout the day. It will keep you full of energy while enjoying those cocktails in the evening.

3. Splurge where you want to. Spend the extra money doing what you like. Have a great meal or buy that $10 drink at the pool bar. Stressing too much on your budget will take away from the whole experience.

4. Go with a group. Not only is splitting the hotel bill a great idea, but a great group of friends will surely make the trip memorable!
